Laser Hair Removal
Laser hair removal is one of our favourite methods of hair removal. It's quite popular. But not actually as popular as we thought it'd be. At one time it did used to be expensive and a little bit painful. However these disadvantages are no longer major problems. Laser hair removal has got much better over the years. So much that many of the other down sides are no longer a problem. For example people with non black hair didn't used to be able to get the treatment. Now there are special creams you can rub on before the treatment which can solve this issue.
A little bit about how it works - we think this is very important because if you know exactly how it works, you can get more out of it. You'll know that it takes time to see results, and a single treatment won't be worth the money. Essentially the laser targets the dark pigments in your hair (or the cream which was absorbed into your hair) using light and then fires a blast wave of heat directly at them. This heat then goes all the way down the length of the hair, and then goes into the hair follicle. This damages the follicle and sometimes destroys it completely. The good this is that this isn't just done one hair at a time, every blast from the device can hit a ton of hair follicles in one go. This means:
However:
There are two sorts of treatment - home based, and from a clinic. The home devices are systems like the Tria. They can work out cheaper but don't provide as good results as those from a clinic. To find a good clinic check out this site.
Keep in mind you may need up to 10 sessions to fully reduce hair growth on a certain area. Also you may need top up sessions after a few years. So it's not a permanent solution to your problems!

- It involves less pain.
- It works out cheaper than electrolysis.
- Large areas can be treated/
However:
- The process isn't permanent.
- It still hurts a bit.
- Lasers can be dangerous in the wrong hands.
